Native American Fringe Earrings - Teal & Bronze

  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Light Bronze" (457L)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Metallic Light Bronze" (DB22L)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Matte Galvanized Meade" (DB1163)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Opaque Luster Newsprint" (DB261)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Duracoat Dyed Opaque Eucalyptus" (DB2131)

I saw some earrings for sale in THIS Etsy shop that I fell in love with. The difference is that she made hers with mostly transparent Czech seed beads instead of Delica beads. The colors that I used for this sample earring aren't quite the same as her colorway but I didn't have any in that yellowish gold color that she used. As it turns out, I think I like my colorway even more and I like how it looks with Delicas very much.

Although I'm madly in love with this earring, the fringe is too long for me. The top section is a nice size but I don't know if I can get used to having earrings dusting my shoulders. I'd like to make a pair for myself but maybe I'll make the fringe about the same length as the fringe on the earrings that I blogged about HERE on Monday. The top sections are both the same number of beads across so only the fringe length will need to be changed.

I think you can probably tell that I'm enjoying making these fringe earrings. I have to say though that this particular earring was a lot of work to make and I will have to make a second earring if I decide to keep it instead of making them shorter. There is a lot of detail in the top part but it was the fringe that took me hours a LOTS of thread to make. I estimate that it took me almost four yards of thread to make this one earring because the fringe is so long. I used Nymo B thread, by the way, which is what I've been using to make all of my fringe earrings.

You can buy Delica beads at Red Panda, Aura Crystals, Supply Emporium and Baubles & Beads.
